Description

Version 0.5

The actual script is in the description. In order to use this you need Firefox with the Greasemonkey extension installed (click here in Firefox to install version 0.6.5).

For a nice tutorial on how to get this all up and running in about 5 mins, go here

All this script does is load an external stylesheet from a website into deviantart. It's only set to work on user profile pages and journal pages but future releases may change that and you can always just change it yourself.

For an example of what it can do, go here

In order to make it work on your profile you need your most recent journal entry that with the following HTML code in it somewhere (it won't show up in your journal so you can put it anywhere):

        < a href="http://[web-address]" title="ActivateDAStyler">< /a>

(Please note: you need to remove the spaces that come after the left angle-brackets ('<') and replace 'web-address' with the full URL to wherever you uploaded the stylesheet to e.g. soul-scape.com/misc/dastyle.css)

If those instructions above don't make much sense to you, go here and just copy and paste the test code into your most recent journal entry after installing the script to make sure it works.

The file must be a valid CSS file. There are loads of sites out there that allow you to store files online for free so you can use those to upload your stylesheets to. Any personal friends of mine can just use my server though if they want.

As you can see, this allows you to modify how your profile and journals look to a certain extent but other people will only be able to see your custom styles if they have this script installed (it would probably be a good idea to link to it in your journals). I must stress that this DOES NOT give you the same abilities as subscribers who can add <div>s to their journals and have a lot more control over them. However if you are a subscriber, this script still allows you to personalise your profile.

The script is located here or if you're impatient, just right click here and choose 'Install User Script' :D

Todo
- Work on improving Literature. Suggestions for this one welcome.
- Add syntax for creating extra HTML on profiles and journals.
- Run the script through a javascript compressor to reduce load time

Changelog
0.5 - Spent ages implementing an option menu that keeps the same style as v5, you can now turn off people's stylesheets if you don't like them
0.2 - Cookies used to speed up stylesheet loading, the script no longer needs to wait for the page to finish loading before loading the stylesheet
0.1 - Basics, loads external stylesheets

All suggestions welcome.

I don't see anything. :|

Sounds good, though.
